Matthew Dixon, Quantitative Analyst Consultant and Adjunct Professor of Analytics, USF
The MIT Media Lab recently organized the "Data for Development" (D4D) challenge, releasing a big anonymized call data set from the Ivory Coast for data scientists to study. This talk will present some of the challenges in detecting mobility patterns from call data and show how open source data analytics architecture can provide an effective visualization tool for urban planners to study commute behavior.
